For my own name\'s sake (1-11).
God saved Israel though she worshiped idols. She was treacherous and stubborn. Her neck was as stiff as iron. Her forehead was bronze. Yet, for his own sake, God delayed his wrath. Still, Israel did not repent. But God did not destroy her. Instead, he refined her in the furnace of Babylon. Why did he show Israel such favor? It was because they were his own people who bore his name. God will not yield his glory to idols.

2. God\'s way is the best (12-22).
The Lord redeemed Israel through Cyrus. The Lord is the Holy One of Israel who teaches us what is best for us. He directs us in the way we should go. If we only pay attention to his commands, peace like a river will flood our souls. But for the wicked, there is no peace.

Prayer: O Lord, help me to repent of my stubborn and treacherous heart. Help me to pay attention to your commands and fill my heart with peace like a river.

One Word: Peace like a river");
